About the Role:
This is a hands-on role for a Senior Backend Engineer who wants to work on meaningful, large-scale backend systems. You’ll design, build, and maintain backend services in Java and Spring, contributing across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
The role is expected to be within Coro’s Platform and AI team, where engineers work on backend services and internal product infrastructure, with a focus on improving existing systems, supporting refactoring and migrations, enhancing event-processing flows, and contributing to the scalability and reliability of backend components.

Key Responsibilities: * Design, implement, and maintain backend services that are reliable and scalable * Contribute to system architecture and participate in design reviews * Improve existing services through refactoring, optimization, and migration work * Ensure high-quality code and take ownership from development through production support * Collaborate with cross-functional team members (product, QA, frontend) to deliver features end-to-end * Apply best practices in software engineering, including concurrency and performance optimization * Actively participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes
Required Competence and Skills: * 6+ years of backend/server-side development with Java * Strong hands-on experience with Spring * Practical experience with MongoDB Deep understanding of multithreaded programming and concurrency * Solid knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns * Experience with cloud-native environments (preferably AWS) * Experience working with high-load systems and microservices architecture
Nice to have: * Experience with Redis and RabbitMQ * Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch * Experience working on AI-related product features and internal tools * Background in cybersecurity
