Role objective Turn payment and fraud data into actionable insights that drive two priorities: improving payment performance (approval rates, routing, cascading) and detecting fraud and abuse across both the user and merchant levels.
You don’t need to be a payments expert on day one — if you think in data and ramp up fast, we’ll get you deep into the domain. Responsibilities Payment optimization * Analyze payment performance metrics (approval rate, conversion, decline reasons, latency) to find optimization opportunities. * Support routing and cascading decisions with data: provider/method performance, cost vs. quality trade-offs, A/B testing of payment flows. * Build and maintain dashboards for payment, transaction, and conversion monitoring.
Fraud & abuse prevention * Detect and analyze suspicious activity, fraud patterns, and abnormal behavior at both the user and merchant levels. * Investigate merchant-side risks (transaction laundering, abnormal volumes, MID abuse) and user-side fraud (chargeback abuse, multi-accounting, anomalous transaction patterns). * Define and track fraud-related metrics; flag emerging risks early.
Cross-functional * Collaborate with Product, Payments, and Risk & Fraud teams on data requirements, insights, and prevention initiatives. * Collect, prepare, validate, and combine data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting.
Must have * 1+ years in any analytical role: Data, Product, BI, Risk, Fraud or Payment Analyst. * Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. * Confident Excel/Google Sheets and working SQL (writing queries, joins, aggregations). * Comfortable working with large datasets and combining data from multiple sources. * Ability to turn data into clear insights and present them to non-technical stakeholders. * Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Will be a plus (or we’ll teach you) * Experience analyzing payment transactions and understanding of key payment/fraud metrics. * Experience with BI tools — Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar. * Experience in iGaming or fintech. * Basic experience using AI for data analysis or automation. * Understanding of payment processes (routing, cascading, card, crypto, APM).
