mcpk. connects top-tier European tech talent with leading IT businesses across the DACH region. Our core philosophy is simple: developers are our clients just as much as businesses are. When you join us, you work directly and exclusively with the client’s team- in this case, a renowned UK-based company. Meanwhile, mcpk. takes care of all your operational comfort behind the scenes and administrative support. We value transparency and simplicity, meaning zero interference in your daily technical routine.
We are looking for a highly technical EU-based Data Engineer to partner with the UK team in architecting and scaling the next-generation data ecosystem. You will take ownership of our cloud footprint, ensuring our data platform remains highly available, automated, and cost-efficient.
What You Will Do: * Architect, build, and evolve our core data platform leveraging the AWS cloud ecosystem and Snowflake. * Drive the adoption of DevOps principles across the data lifecycle, building out comprehensive CI/CD automation from scratch. * Own the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy, using Terraform to provision, manage, and scale data platform resources reliably. * Design and orchestrate robust ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, and modern orchestration frameworks like dbt, sqlmesh, or Airflow. * Continuously monitor platform health, quickly resolving complex SLA-impacting issues across jobs, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. * Spearhead resource optimisation initiatives to reduce storage costs and maximise query performance across AWS and Snowflake. * Work closely with engineering peers, sharing knowledge and providing technical mentorship to elevate the team’s capabilities.
Technical Requirements & Expertise * Proficiency in Terraform. You must be fully capable of managing complex state files, writing modules, and provisioning AWS and Snowflake infrastructure as code. * Deep administrative knowledge of Snowflake platform internals. You should have hands-on experience configuring storage integration objects, external stages, native Snowpipe, not just 3rd-party loaders, resource monitors, and granular RBAC. * Advanced experience with GitHub Actions. We expect you to build and maintain sophisticated, multi-stage CI/CD pipelines, rather than just setting up basic deployment triggers. * Administrative-level experience with Apache Airflow or MWAA. You need to know how to maintain the infrastructure — scaling workers, managing connections, and debugging platform-level failures — beyond just writing DAGs. * Strong working knowledge of core AWS serverless and storage services, specifically S3 and Lambda. * Solid programming and querying foundation using Python and SQL. * Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the capacity to take full ownership of technical challenges in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
What we offer: * 100% remote work from the EU with a highly flexible schedule. * Long-term B2B/FOP partnership with compensation in EUR. * Proper equipment to support seamless work performance * Free corporate English and German language classes. * A chance to work with modern tools on a prestigious, high-scale media product from the UK.
Principles that define us: * Long-Term Focus: We aren’t looking for short-term cooperation. We build stable environments where specialists can thrive for years, offering consistent and reliable support. * Expertise & Growth: We follow industry best practices, encourage continuous learning, and welcome fresh, innovative approaches. * Absolute Transparency: Trust is our foundation. We don’t hide details or simplify challenges — expect honesty at every stage. * Psychological Safety: We maintain a collaborative environment where you can voice concerns, propose ideas, and feel genuinely supported by the team. * Agility in Action: Thanks to our flat structure, we make decisions quickly and adapt to your unique needs without bureaucratic delays.
