As a Data Scientist, Decisions on the Customer App Platforms team, you will leverage data and apply analytical thinking to shape the experience for Rider and Driver apps on iOS and Android. You will focus on improving app features, user interactions, and platform performance by providing data-driven insights. Your work will directly impact the app experience and help optimize features that drive retention and engagement of our riders and drivers. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to drive the end-to-end development and refinement of key app features.
We’re looking for well-rounded, passionate, driven Data Scientists to take on some of the most interesting and impactful problems in the mobile app space for ride-sharing. Responsibilities: * Leverage data to provide insights on rider and driver app behavior, platform interactions, and app performance. * Identify improvement opportunities for mobile app features that drive engagement, retention, and user satisfaction. * Apply analytics, causal inference, and experimentation techniques to solve business problems related to app development and optimization. * Design and analyze experiments for app features; communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences to guide product decisions. * Build models to optimize app features, such as notifications, UI/UX interactions, and ride matching, improving the overall app experience. * Establish and monitor metrics to assess the health of Rider and Driver apps. * Develop and maintain analytical frameworks and dashboards to track app performance and guide ongoing improvements. * Partner with product managers, engineers, business development, and other stakeholders to translate analytical insights into decisions and action, ensuring alignment with product goals. * Design and implement data pipelines to support app data analysis and product implementation across iOS and Android platforms.
Experience: * 5+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role, ideally with experience in mobile app platforms (iOS/Android) * B.S. in economics, applied math, statistics, engineering, or other quantitative fields; M.S. preferred * Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write structured and efficient queries on large datasets * Strong programming skills, particularly in data science and visualization libraries (Python or R) * Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments, particularly within mobile app features or user experience testing * Demonstrated ability to conduct data analysis, solve complex business problems, and derive actionable insights * Strong oral and written communication skills (business writing, presentation building & delivery, executive briefings) * Ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., product, engineering, design, marketing) * Experience working with ETL pipelines and app data analytics is a plus
