Atlaslive is looking for an experienced Java Team Lead to lead an established engineering team responsible for Casino Services. The team develops and maintains the core platform services that power casino operations, including integrations with game providers, game aggregation platforms, wallet interactions, bonus mechanics, and other business-critical backend services. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving engineering excellence, and helping teams deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements: * 5+ years of commercial experience with Java. * Strong experience with Spring Boot and modern Java ecosystem. * Experience designing and supporting microservice architectures. * Strong knowledge of SQL databases and data modeling principles. * Experience building and maintaining REST APIs. * Solid understanding of distributed systems and high-load applications. * Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems. * Understanding of software architecture patterns and system design. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices. * Experience working with containerized applications and cloud environments.
Leadership Skills: * Previous experience leading software engineering teams. * Strong mentoring and coaching skills. * Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities. * Experience managing delivery, technical debt, and engineering quality. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives from concept to production.
Responsibilities: * Lead and develop an established team of Java engineers. * Take ownership of the team’s technical direction, architecture, and delivery processes. * Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for casino operations. * Drive architecture discussions and technical decision-making. * Ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability of platform services. * Oversee integrations with casino game providers and third-party platforms. * Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, Architects, and DevOps teams. * Participate in project planning, estimation, and prioritization. * Establish and maintain engineering standards, code review practices, and development processes. * Mentor team members and support their professional growth. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the team and platform. * Support incident management, troubleshooting, and production stability.
Nice to Have: * Experience in iGaming, Casino, Sportsbook, or Gambling industries. * Experience integrating with casino game providers. * Knowledge of gaming transactions, wallet systems, bonus engines, and related casino mechanics. * Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms. * Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure. * Experience working with high-availability and mission-critical systems. * Experience with regulatory or compliance-driven environments. * Practical experience using AI tools to improve software development productivity and engineering workflows. * Experience working with AI-assisted development approaches, including AI agents, code generation, automated testing, and technical documentation. * Familiarity with Specification-Driven Development (SDD) or similar approaches where requirements, architecture, and implementation are driven by structured specifications and automation. * Interest in modern software engineering practices involving AI-enhanced development workflows.
