Engagement: Full-time (contractor setup available) Location: Remote — European or Israeli time zone
About us
We run a high-volume B2C platform in the adult-entertainment space: 200,000+ active users, 30,000+ creators, and payment events flowing every single second. Real money, real-time, real scale. Our data is one of our biggest competitive advantages, and you will work directly alongside one of the best data analysts in the adult industry to turn a firehose of events into clean, trustworthy, query-ready data that drives product, payments, and growth decisions.
The role
We are hiring a data engineer to own our ETL pipelines end to end — the systems that move data from our transactional platform (MongoDB, payment streams, behavioural events) into the analytics layer where it becomes insight. This is not a wire-up-a-dashboard job. You will design pipelines that stay correct and timely when money is moving every second and millions of events land every day. Data integrity is the whole game here: a dropped payment event or a double-counted transaction is not a cosmetic bug, it is a financial one.
What you will do: * Own the pipelines. Design, build, and maintain ETL / streaming pipelines that ingest high-volume event and payment data and land it in our analytics warehouse — reliable and reconcilable to the cent. * Model the data. Work hand in hand with our lead data analyst so the warehouse schema actually answers the business’s questions: creator earnings, payment throughput, retention, LTV, cohort behaviour. * Engineer for failure. Build idempotent, replayable, observable jobs that survive spikes, retries, and partial failures without corrupting downstream data. * Process the firehose. Move events through our queue infrastructure — BullMQ (Redis), AWS SQS, and RabbitMQ — and instrument everything with OpenTelemetry so we can see and trust what is happening. * Guard correctness. Reconciliation checks, late and out-of-order event handling, deduplication, and backfills you can run with confidence. * Protect the money. Partner with payments and platform teams to make sure every transaction is captured once, accurately, and on time.
Tech you will work with: * Languages: Node.js / TypeScript (primary); .NET / C# across some services. * Data stores: MongoDB (primary transactional store), Redis. * Queues & streaming: BullMQ, AWS SQS, RabbitMQ. * Analytics & warehouse: PostHog and its data-warehouse layer; SQL modelling. * Platform: AWS (S3, SNS, and more), Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions. * Observability: OpenTelemetry tracing on every pipeline — non-negotiable.
About you: * Strong engineer with serious experience building data / ETL pipelines at high volume streaming or batch, ideally both. * Deep with event-driven architectures and message queues; idempotency, at-least-once vs exactly-once, and out-of-order delivery are second nature. * Comfortable in TypeScript / Node; .NET / C# is a strong plus. * Solid SQL and data modelling — you can sit with an analyst and design schemas that make their queries fast and obvious. * You treat data integrity around money as sacred, with the instincts (reconciliation, auditing, monitoring) to back it up. * You have worked in a B2C adult, gaming, or gambling company — high-volume, high-frequency, real-money, real-time. You know what it means when the system never sleeps and the numbers have to be right. * Based in or working on European or Israeli time, with strong overlap with the core team.
Nice to have: * Payments / transaction data and financial reconciliation experience. * MongoDB change streams / CDC, warehouse tooling, dbt-style modelling. * Comfort with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code.
What will you get: * Fully remote * High ownership from day one * Small engineering team with minimal bureaucracy * Modern technology stack * Real technical challenges * Competitive compensation * Long-term product development rather than client work
