We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric) to join a project for our client, a leading global contract research organization (CRO) that supports pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in the development of new therapies. The company provides comprehensive clinical trial services, from early-phase development to post-approval studies.
We are seeking a self-motivated professional with strong collaboration skills and a passion for applying technical expertise to help address drug development challenges and enhance a world-class clinical trials informatics platform.
In this role, you will work within cross-functional product teams to design, build, and evolve a modern data platform that directly impacts drug development teams, clinical trial investigators, and ultimately, patients.
What We’re Looking For: * 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering * Strong hands-on experience with ELT, data pipelines, and data integration tools, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory (ADF) * Proven experience designing and deploying scalable data architectures with a strong focus on ETL/ELT processes * Solid experience designing, developing, and managing enterprise-grade data platforms * Experience working with large-scale datasets, modern data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, and data processing solutions in real-time and batch environments * Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure, but AWS will be fine too * Strong knowledge of database technologies, including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL * Experience with data governance concepts, including data lineage, data quality, and data security * Ability to design and manage data storage, data processing, and data quality frameworks * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment * Strong communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented mindset * Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English proficiency
Your Responsibilities: * Architect and implement robust ELT processes using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric * Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data from multiple enterprise sources into Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses, Warehouses, and downstream Azure SQL databases * Build and maintain cloud-based data platforms and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric * Implement and promote modern software engineering principles and best practices in CI/CD and DevOps * Collaborate closely with data engineers, infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and application teams to ensure effective data integration and accessibility * Partner with data analysts and data scientists to enable analytics and support data-driven decision-making * Enable and support self-service data engineering capabilities across the wider data organization * Identify opportunities for improving the data platform infrastructure and deliver scalable solutions * Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize platform reliability and efficiency * Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the data platform and its infrastructure
Will Be a Plus: * Experience in healthcare, life sciences, MedTech, or clinical trials domains * Understanding of healthcare data privacy and compliance standards, including HIPAA * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
