Pine Software Technology Ltd is a software company specializing in trading technology solutions for regulated brokers and trading firms. We build SaaS products that support electronic trading, brokerage operations, risk management, and financial data analysis. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Software Engineering to join our team and lead the unification of our data platform.
Responsibilities:
— Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and Databricks. — Implement and manage Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines to seamlessly ingest data from source systems into the data platform. — Design and evolve data models using the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) within the Databricks Lakehouse. — Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform. — Optimize complex SQL queries and Spark jobs to guarantee high performance, reliability, and data quality at scale. — Take full ownership of pipeline development end-to-end, communicating directly with stakeholders to refine requirements. — Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and product teams as we expand into analytics, dashboards, ML/AI, and real-time processing.
Requirements:
— 6+ years of overall software/data engineering experience, with a solid foundation as a Software Engineer who transitioned into data. — Strong proficiency in Python and SQL. — Proven track record of designing, building, and scaling ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark and Databricks. — Hands-on experience implementing and managing Change Data Capture (CDC) and streaming pipelines. — Practical knowledge of Databricks Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, and dimensional data modeling (Star Schema, Kimball). — Practical experience provisioning and managing infrastructure using Terraform. — High level of autonomy and accountability — ability to own tasks from ideation through to completion. — Strong product mindset with a clear understanding of business value. — English: Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Nice to have:
— Financial domain knowledge (capital markets, brokerage, or trading operations). — Hands-on experience with Apache Beam or Apache Flink.
