Why you’ll want to come to work:
We’re looking for a Senior C#/Unity Engineer to help build and shape our newest mobile game from the ground up. This is a high-impact role where you’ll have direct ownership over core game systems, features, performance, and technical decisions that will influence how the game is built, optimized, and shipped.
Working closely with the CTO, Product, and a small, high-caliber team, you’ll have the opportunity to solve meaningful technical challenges, influence the engineering foundation of the game, and see your work directly impact the player experience. We move quickly, embrace change, and believe great engineers should have the autonomy to identify problems, make decisions, and drive solutions through to completion.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building, solving complex problems, and working in an environment where there’s plenty of room to make an impact. We also embrace AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and similar technologies to accelerate development, research, debugging, and problem-solving.
Your Responsibilities: * Drive Technical Development: Own the development of core game systems and features, from technical design through implementation and delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the overall architecture. * Own Engineering Outcomes: Take ownership of technical areas and features end-to-end, proactively identifying what needs to be done, making informed technical decisions, and driving execution without requiring constant direction. * Optimize the Player Experience: Profile, troubleshoot, and optimize game performance, stability, memory usage, and responsiveness across a wide range of mobile devices, ensuring a smooth and high-quality player experience. * Build for Mobile: Develop and optimize experiences for iOS and Android, balancing technical constraints, device fragmentation, performance, and platform-specific requirements to deliver a reliable mobile product. * Solve & Improve: Identify technical bottlenecks, investigate complex problems, and implement practical solutions that continuously improve the quality, performance, and scalability of the game. * Accelerate with AI: Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve development velocity across coding, debugging, research, documentation, and problem-solving, while maintaining strong engineering judgment and quality standards. * Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with the CTO, Product, and other disciplines to translate product goals and player needs into effective technical solutions and help shape decisions across the game. * Elevate Engineering Quality: Establish and maintain clean, maintainable code and contribute to engineering practices, architecture, and processes that enable the team to move quickly without sacrificing quality or long-term scalability. * Enable the Team: Share knowledge, contribute to code reviews, and mentor other engineers when appropriate, helping build strong technical practices and a collaborative engineering culture. * Adapt & Deliver: Navigate evolving priorities and requirements while maintaining execution momentum and ensuring high-quality features and releases are delivered on time.
What you’ll bring to the team: * Experience: 6+ years of professional game development experience, including hands-on experience building and shipping mobile games. * C# & Unity: Strong expertise in Unity3D and C#, with a deep understanding of game development patterns, architecture, and engineering best practices. * Mobile Expertise: Proven experience developing and optimizing Unity games for iOS and Android, with a strong understanding of mobile-specific technical and performance considerations. * Performance: Strong experience profiling and optimizing mobile game performance, with the ability to identify bottlenecks and make informed technical trade-offs. * Ownership & Autonomy: A strong sense of ownership and the ability to take a problem from identification through solution and delivery without needing constant direction. * Problem-Solving: A practical, analytical approach to technical challenges, with the curiosity and initiative to investigate problems, identify root causes, and find effective solutions. * Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment where priorities and requirements evolve, and able to make progress even when not everything is perfectly defined upfront. * AI Proficiency: Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologies as part of your everyday development workflow. * Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and cross-functional partners in English.
Bonus Points: * Industry Experience: Prior experience in mobile gaming, especially with match-3, casual, or F2P games. * Full Product Lifecycle: Experience taking a mobile game from development through launch and supporting it through live development. * Technical Breadth: Experience with additional programming languages, technologies, or game development frameworks. * Small-Team Experience: Experience working in a small, fast-moving, or startup-like environment where engineers have significant ownership and influence over technical decisions.
